22-25 July 2009: Queenstown
The 2009 Rehabilitation Conference will be held in Queenstown from 22nd to 24th July, with workshops on Saturday the 25th July. The conference venue is the Rydges Hotel in Queenstown. This time the conference is going to be held as a collaboration between the New Zealand Rehabilitation Association, Inc. (NZRA), the National Institute of Rehabilitation Research in New Zealand (NIRRNZ) and the Australasian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine (AFRM). While the NZRA ensures the multidisciplinary focus, the NIRR and AFRM will add academic/research and clinical depth to the rehabilitation spectrum. The overarching theme for the conference is "Working together across the lifespan - An interdisciplinary approach to rehabilitation". Subthemes and concurrent sessions will include:
- Cancer rehabilitation
- Cardio-respiratory rehabilitation
- Developmental / intellectual disability
- Geriatric rehabilitation
- Goal setting / teams
- Musculo-skeletal and manipulative medicine
- Paediatric rehabilitation
- The ICF Model
- Work force
- Other topics
The conference website is now open for submission of abstract for either oral or poster presentations. The closing date for abstract submission is 28 February 2009. Registration for the conference will open in March 2009, with Early Bird registrations closing on 15 May 2009.
