The AllNurses.com forum is similar to the PhysioForum in a number of ways: it is sensibly-structured, regularly used, and well maintained. AllNurses.com reports that it is the largest and most active online nursing community, with over 243,000 registered members and 500 nursing topics being discussed daily.
Again it can be a little difficult search this forum for information on a particular topic. This time no ‘tag cloud’ is provided, although you can do a basic text-word search of the whole website. For such a large website as this however a text-word search can result in a seemingly endless list of possible threads to trawl through – so in many ways just browsing the website can be more fruitful.
Of interest to the NZRA community there is a specific ‘rehabilitation nursing’ section to this forum. To find it, click on ‘Speciality’ in the top list of tabs, then select from the short list that pops up the link ‘Nursing Specialities’, and click on this. This list of ‘Nursing Specialities’ is in alphabetical order, so search down to click on ‘Rehabilitation Nursing’. I note that at the time of writing this review, there were 179 individual threads relating to rehabilitation nursing. However, a number of these threads seemed to relate to problems or questions from newly graduated or student nurses, so be prepared to do a bit more browsing of threads when you get to this section.
Other ‘Nursing Speciality’ sub-groups that may be of interest to the rehabilitation community include: ‘Occupational Health’, ‘Orthopaedic Nursing’, ‘Pain Management’, ‘Psychiatric Nursing’, and ‘Geriatric and Long Term Care Nursing’.
