Julian is the Manager of the Burwood Academy of Independent Living (BAIL), a dynamic organisation (based at the Burwood Hospital Campus in Christchurch) which is "committed to improving the life experience of people recovering from serious injury and illness". Julian is an Industrial Designer with 15 years experience designing products, educational materials and systems for rehabilitation and independence. As Manager of the BAIL, he brings a fresh view to the process and experience of recovery from serious illness and injury, and is committed to enhancing the Independent Living model through both research, and its application in New Zealand and abroad.
